Digital X-Rays

  • Significantly Less Radiation: Digital X-Rays give off up to 90% less radiationthan regular  film X-Rays.
  • Environmentally Friendly: With digital X-Rays, there aren’t any toxic chemicals to expose employees or patients  to or  to dispose of.
  • Instant Photos: Digital X-Ray images are available instantly to view with a patient or to electronically send to specialists or insurance companies

How Digital Dental X-Rays Work

We place a tiny sensor in your mouth which is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an X-ray beam records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to photograph other sections of your mouth.

Why Digital Dental X-Rays are Better

The digital X-ray system has more sensitivity than regular dental X-ray film systems, so your exposure to X-rays is reduced by as much as 90 percent. The large, color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it’s easier for you to make an informed decision. Your fees don’t include payment for extras such as photo chemicals, film, processing or film storage. Also of great importance, the used photo chemicals and film are not polluting our environment. Your dental checkups take less time, and it’s fun to watch this system work! Most patients are amazed by this wonderful technology.

Laser Gummy Smile Correction

When you smile, does your grin appear too “gummy”? Many people complain of smiles that look less than attractive because they show too much gum tissue, otherwise known as a “gummy smile”. This can make the teeth look smaller and the gums prominent. To correct this problem, Dr. Yolanda Cruz uses a laser to gently remove excess tissue. Generally, laser gum contouring is done in conjunction with the placement of porcelain veneers. However, gummy smiles can be contoured to show more teeth than gum. This instantly creates a more natural, attractive smile.

The laser is extremely precise and the entire procedure only takes a few minutes. Most cosmetic dental patients who undergo this laser procedure report little to no discomfort.

Intraoral Cameras

People rarely have a clear idea of the actual state of their dental health. Even with lights and mirrors it’s hard to see what the dentist can – that is, until now.

Although seeing your dental problems may seem a bit overwhelming at first, consider the experience the first step toward a healthier smile. The camera can reveal the early stages of serious problems, giving you the opportunity to prevent small problems before they worsen. This is especially helpful with gum disease and other conditions that cause serious damage without causing pain. Furthermore, the camera can also show you how your regular home hygiene routine is working. The dental hygienist or dentist can recommend different ways to improve your home care based on their findings. We use intraoral cameras, so during your check ups, you can sit comfortably back in the chair and get ready to learn about what’s going on in your mouth. The dentist or hygienist will place a pen-sized, camera into your mouth. Covered with a disposable plastic sheath to prevent contamination, the wand simply takes a video of the inside of your mouth and transmits the images to a computer screen that you can comfortably view from your dental chair. Aha! We can point out problem areas and explain recommendations for treatment, so you’ll become an informed partner in your dental treatment instead of a clueless bystander.

• No Gooey Impressions
• No Temporaries
• Partial and Full Crowns
• Veneers, Inlays and Onlays
• Conservative restorations retain more healthy tooth structure.
• Durable, Natural-Colored Restorations

How does the CEREC Work?

First: we prepare the damaged tooth by painting a thin layer of reflective powder directly on the tooth’s surface. Using a special camera, we then take a picture of the tooth. We work from this photo, which is actually a pin-sharp optical impression of the tooth.

Second: Computer Aided Design technology helps us design the restoration from the optical impression. You can actually watch us design your new restoration on a full-color computer monitor right before your eyes!

Then CEREC 3 creates an extremely precise restoration, also while you watch. A high-speed diamond bur and a disk work simultaneously to mill the restoration our of a solid block of ceramic material. Finally, we bond the newly milled restoration to the tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

More than a decade of clinical research and experience supports the CEREC technology. User input and research has helped the manufacturer improve the product during this time. Dentists have performed over two million restorations worldwide!

Invisalign

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth without braces. With the help of advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to project tooth movement, we create a series of clear, custom-made invisible aligners to gradually move your teeth. You wear each aligner for about two weeks, moving to the next set, until your teeth are aligned. It’s that easy!

Invisalign® invisible braces take the hassle and unattractiveness out of straightening one’s teeth, making great alignment a possibility for adults of all ages. Unlike metal braces, the whole invisalign® process usually takes less than one year. The aligners can be removed to eat, brush and floss making this procedure a healthier and less cumbersome alternative to braces.
